Breaking in the New Toy

My apologies for not updating lately; I can only blame laziness.  For the past two months I’ve been breaking in my new camera and I’ve learned quite a bit along the way.

The first weekend after her arrival my family and I took a brief trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.  Even from these first few days I was already impressed with my investment.

The next weekend I visited Raleigh’s Lake Johnson Nature Park to capture the last of the autumn color.

Yellow Leaves

Then in December I took a day trip to Hanging Rock State Park, near Mount Airy, NC.  This turned out to be a very nice location and I certainly intend to visit again when the leaves return to the trees.

While I was home on Christmas Break, we had a white Boxing Day.  Now, I should note that where I live snow is a rare occurrence, period.  So, needless to say, I grabbed my camera and went for stroll around the neighborhood.

Then finally, this past weekend, I visited Raven Rock State Park.  Again, a rather nice park which I think would be greatly enhanced by the return of leaves to the trees.

Danger

Yep, I'm in the right place.

And that pretty much sums up my two month anniversary.  I hope you’ll stick with me and I promise I’ll return to updating the blog more often!
